I met Steve on an Old Suds weekend hockey trip to Niagara Falls a number of years ago.On Saturday afternoon after the games were done,everyone gathered in the team hospitality room and the guitars came out.Dennis Staples,Brent Rotundo,John Lawrence,Myron Porter and myself got into a jamming session.I sang an old favourite of mine called "Old dogs and children and watermellon wine" by Tom T. Hall.Well,Steve was out of the chair to give me a big hug as thanks for playing that song.Everytime we met again thereafter,he would ask for that song and I would sing it for him.I will think of him now every time I sing it,which is often.

Our deepest condolences Anne, Amanda and the rest of the family. Steve was definitely a character and a dear and beloved friend to us. Many memories over the years with pig roasts, Superbowl parties and definitely David working with Steve side by side on the refrigeration equipment at Rideau Meats. No gathering will ever be the same without hearing his great laugh and listening to his amazing stories. Will miss you so much Steve.

Dad couldn’t wait to come see Vincent after we were released to my dear friend Sandi’s house in Barhaven after his heart surgery this past summer. He beat us to her house and arrived with a weeks worth of groceries and dinner.

So shocked to hear of Steve's passing, he was one of a kind, and you never knew what and where he was going to say something to get a reaction out of you, i remember working the day before xmas in the LCBO and he yelled up at me, can you not work a little faster, i looked up at him and saw who it was, and i said, one more word out of you and you will go to the back of the line, then i had to explain to each customer that we knew each other and were just joking around. I sure will miss him, he could always put you in stitches, I pray you are able to get comfort from all your memories, and may he rest in peace with Jason, God Speed Steve.
