On December 15th 2021 in Stittsville, Ottawa in her 101st year, with family at her side. Happily married to Barry Porteous (1917-2005) for 57 years, she was the proud mother of Clare (Perry), James (Kathleen) and Patricia, and was delighted to be the grandmother of Charity (Ivo) and Christopher Safford, Andrew and Alexa Porteous and Baillie Card, and the great-grandmother of Hynek and Filip Dusek, and Jacob Safford. She was pre-deceased by her sister, Roslyn Bilsbarrow. Adele’s dry sense of humour never failed her. She treasured her longtime friends and derived great joy from her family who have all been inspired by the eloquence of her example.  Heartfelt thanks to the staff at Granite Ridge Care Community who took such wonderful care of Mum and were bright lights in her life.  She will be inurned at Cataraqui Cemetery, Kingston.
