Obituary of George Fielding

Passed peacefully on December 20, 2021 at the Smiths Falls Hospital at the age of 92. George leaves behind his beloved wife Norma Fielding (nee Lackey) of 69 years; his children Dennis, Don (Penny), the late Diana Bennett, and Danny (Kimberley); his brother Ken (the late Lois), and sister Sandra (the late Stanley), as well as his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his siblings Helen, Dot, Ron, Donald, Kay, Shirley, Amy, Jean, Ethel, and Beverley. George worked for CP Rail for 37 years, and was a dedicated hockey and baseball coach in Smiths Falls during his younger days, and an avid golfer in his retired years. The family wishes to thank the second floor nurses and doctors of the Smiths Falls Hospital, in particular Dr. Joannou and his family physician Dr. Hendry, for their exceptional care of George. A private family service will be held in honour of George, and those wishing to make memorial donations may do so to the Canadian Cancer Society.
