I know Peter ( always Pedro to me ) in a professional capacity . He did work for our company and always was able
to dazzle us with his masterful work and ingenuity . Many project over many years never ceased to amaze us. We
had a restoration job once that required re attaching cast iron finials to a fence of about 100 feet long on a Historical
building. Technically , you can't weld cast. Pedro said ' no problem' , showed up with the mobile welder on his truck
and welded all the broken parts, on site , in the foul weather without any problems.
Once I was helping him with one of our projects in his shop and we got talking about Toyota Land Cruisers and how
great they were. He showed me some photographs he took in Rwanda. It seems that he got caught behind the guerilla
lines in the fighting with the government. They had two blown up Land Cruisers and , at gun point wanted him to take
parts off of the two of them to make one working Land Cruiser. The pictures proved it all. There he was with a newly welded up
Land Cruiser and smiling rebels all around him brandishing AK 47's and smiling.
Pedro was an itinerant welded and has been all through Africa , Australia and Europe welding on site for mostly mining
companies and other manufacturing services. We definitely were privileged to have him as part of our community.
I will always miss his elfish smile , his quick wit , and his down to earth nature.
I will miss your great talent, Paul Sentesy
