Elsie passed away peacefully at the Smiths Falls Hospital on Wednesday January 26, 2022 at the age of 96. Beloved wife of the late John B. “Jack” O’Neill. Loving and devoted mother of Gail (Carl) Popkey and Karen (Michael) Forbes. Cherished grandmother of Jennifer (Glen) Bergen, Jim (Margo) Popkey, Susan (John) Goodyer, and Dan Forbes, David Forbes (Emilie Kauss), and Kelly (John) Nephin. Proud great-grandmother of Jack, Tom, Emerson, Mallory, Nathan, Austin and Alena and step great-grandmother of Heidi and Earl Nephin. Elsie is predeceased by her precious grandson Paul Popkey. She will be fondly remembered by her many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends in the Smiths Falls and surrounding areas. Family and friends may pay their respects at the Blair & Son Funeral Home, 112 Beckwith St. N., Smiths Falls on Sunday, January 30, 2022 from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Francis de Sales Church on Monday, January 31, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of choice.
