Shafer, Mary Teresa
Teresa died peacefully at her home in Perth with her family by her side on Monday January 31st, 2022 in her 87th year. She was predeceased in 2006 by her husband William Joseph “Bill” Shafer, her parents Gertrude (Walker) and Clarence McKinnon and brother Francis McKinnon. Teresa was the beloved mother of Mike (Peggy) Shafer, Barbara Dowdall, Sister Margo and Billy (Diane) Shafer, Dianna (Randy) Conroy, Steve Shafer, Janet (Mike) Girdwood and Theresa Kerr. She was the loved and respected grandmother of 14, great grandmother of 13 and great great grandmother of 4. Teresa was the loved sister of Leo and Joe (Minnie) McKinnon and Margaret Trombley. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends including Cherry (JoeBill) Potter, Allan Dowdall, Carol Vahey and Dennis Turner.
Family and friends will join in a celebration of Mass and Christian Burial to be held in St. John's Church, Perth on Friday February 4th, 2022 at 2:00 P.M. Interment will follow in St. Johns Cemetery. Please note there will be a capacity limit of 130 in attendance in the church. In remembrance, contributions to St. Elizabeth SSE Health Care, 1471 Counter Blvd. Suite 410 Kingston On, K7M 8S8 or St. John's Catholic Parish, 38 Wilson St E, Perth, ON K7H 1L6 would be appreciated.
