Ina and family, I am a member of the Smiths Falls Flying Club and as such had the honour to meet and get to know Ralph. He was truly an inspiration to his pilot friends. I remember fondly when he received his instrument rating. Ralph’s instructor Dave was so proud of Him, that Dave often talked about Ralph’s success when, when a student was unsure whether he or she could learn to fly. He will be missed. It has been my privilege to have been a 'plus one' to this wonderful family for almost 50 years. Ralph has always represented what a husband, father and member of the Canadian Armed Forces should be. He even tried to teach me how to hunt ducks once in the 'back 40' at the farm - score: ducks 25, mark 0.... I will miss my friend Ralph. The photo on the left of me and Ralph is fairly recent. The one on the right with Al and his Dad is from their 60th wedding anniversary party June 7, 2014.

Condolences to Ina and family on the passing of Ralph. I knew Ralph through the Smiths Falls Flying Club where he was a very active member. As one of the long time members he knew a lot about the airports history, flew often and he & Ina volunteered regularly. He will be missed.
