Obituary of Bob Purdon

PURDON, Robert James (Bob)

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Bob on Thursday March 31st, 2022 at the age of 77 years.  Bob was the loving husband of Linda (Pretty) and cherished father of Barbie (Jeff) Bernier and Lori (Kevin) Marcellus and proud Grandpa of Brooke, Bobby, Hallie and Cody.  He was the dearest brother of Phyllis (Frank) McVicker and Dave (Jewel) Purdon. Bob was the brother-in-law of Lorna (John) Jamieson, and the late Diane (Don surviving) Duncan. He was predeceased by his parents James and Mary (Duncan) Purdon and his mother and father-in-law Lorne and Irene (McNicol) Pretty.

Bob was born in McDonalds Corners. He had a 30 year career with Bell Canada in Ottawa where he also enjoyed umpiring softball. He then had a second 15 year career with Verizon in Tulsa, Oklahoma before finally retiring in Dallas, Texas to be close to his daughters and their families.

He will be fondly remembered by his family and friends for his passion for life, belly laughter, love of sports, and the ability to get to know everyone he met.  Bob loved people and people loved Bob.
