Mr. Rutherford was a great person and principal at Rideau Vista School in Westport for many years. His example of kindness, compassion, and fairness resonates with myself today in my teaching career. I was selected for a reward in his name at Rideau Vista that was based on these qualities.

I was very saddened to hear of the death of my grade-eight teacher at Lombardy school (1967). I have thought about him many times over the years as he was a fantastic educator and left a lasting impression on a young girl. My sincere condolences in the loss of your husband, father and grandfather.

Janice and family we are saddened by the passing of George. He was always a great neighbour and would always help with anything that was asked of him. We will miss chatting with him over the fence while he tended to his garden and flowers, his passion. He always had a witty remark and a smile.
