Aunt Jean was fun loving, outgoing and had many talents. She could play the piano, sing, dance, had the gift of the gab, was an animated story teller, and liked to cook for a crowd. She introduced us to unusual/new recipes like zucchini cake, hamburger soup, slush, and salad in a bag just to name a few. Generous, kind hearted and compassionate and like her two sisters had a love for all animals/God’s creatures (except for bats!).
Aunt Jean’s bat encounters are legendary and as kids at the farm we knew the drill by the time we could walk - take cover or hide - so that flying rodent didn’t get tangled in your hair and get out of the way while Aunt Jean leaped into action swinging a broom at it with a bath mat on her head! Pandemonium, chaos…and always a ton of fun with Aunt Jean in the middle of it all!
So many great memories. May you Rest In Peace dear Aunt Jean.
