Obituary of John Patrick Miller

Miller, John Patrick

May 13th, 1938- March 15th, 2023

It is with heavy hearts we announce the untimely passing of John Patrick Miller on Wednesday March 15^th, 2023, following a massive heart attack in the Perth hospital.  He was the beloved spouse of Theresa (Gerritse) Miller for 65 plus years.  John will be missed by his siblings Diane, Harry, Nordella, Brenda and Lawrence and was predeceased by Bud, Eleanor, Linda, Mary, David and son Bruce.  He was the loving father of Brian (Louise Donohue), Pat, Barry (Barbara Bush), Pauline (Richard Stuart), Tim, Terry and Penny (Gerald Tracey).  John was the devoted grandfather of Adair (Alex), Rachel (Em), Kirtus (Lisa), Markus (Mallory), Janel (John) Brandon (Nicole), Tayler (Bill), Abigail, Jason, Kyle, Emily, Allison and Alexander and great grandfather of Shelby, Kyler, Ashlynn, Kaden, Ellis, Jones and Nolan.

John always worked hard to support his family and passed on to them his strong work ethics.  He enjoyed his employment at Maple Leaf Dairy, Valewood and being the owner operator of the Golden Eagle gas station, Queen Street Taxi and Miller’s Custom Cabinets in Renfrew.  He was an excellent cabinet maker who built many beautiful pieces of furniture.  John enjoyed the simple things in life like playing cards with his wife and family, hunting and family fishing trips.  He especially enjoyed the annual fishing tournament where he took great pride in his frequent trophy winnings.  He will be deeply missed. 

John’s family and friends are invited to join together at the Blair & Son Funeral Home, 15 Gore St., W., Perth on Monday March 20^th, 2023 for visitation from 10:00 until service in the chapel at 10:30 A.M.  A reception will follow in the Blair & Son Family Centre.  The interment will be held in Renfrew in the spring.  In lieu of flowers, donations to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul Conference, St. Maurice Parish Ottawa or the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.  Serving Christ in the poor, in all possible ways with love, respect, justice and joy.
