Obituary of Theresa Wakefield

Passed away peacefully at Rose Bridge Manor, in Jasper, Ontario on May 3, 2023 at the age of 98. Theresa was born in Hamilton, Ontario and was raised by her aunt and uncle in Smith Falls, Ontario. It is there that Theresa met her first husband, Archie Hawley where they moved to Kilmarnock Island also in Jasper. They raised four children, Margaret, Barbara, Terry and Alan . Theresa‘s career started at RCA Victor in Smith Falls, Ontario making vinyl records. Theresa always had a love for horses, so she opened the RRR ranch riding stable just outside of Smiths Falls. Theresa‘s motto in life was, 'life is what you make it.'  Later in life she then married her second husband, Kenneth Wakefield. During their years together Theresa and Ken both loved to travel so they had many adventures going to Alaska, and Arizona as snowbirds. Theresa is predeceased by both of her parents, Elton and Helena (Hughes) Day, her sister Marie Thatcher and brother Joseph day, her first husband Archie Hawley and then Kenneth Wakefield. Sadly Theresa is also predeceased by her daughter Barbara Mousseau (Hawley), and sons Terry Hawley, Alan Hawley and Grandson Archie Hawley. She is survived by daughter, Margaret Jordan (Ken), stepson Ross Wakefield (Islay), her many grand children; Melody Foran (Martin) , Bonnie Hutton , Mike Hutton (Jean), Dan Hutton , Karen Hawley, Ed Voogt, Dale Wakefield.  She will be fondly remembered by her many great-grandchildren and extended family, friends, and clients at RRR Stable. As per Theresa‘s wishes, there will be a small family graveside service at the Wolford cemetery at a later date. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or LAWS(Lanark Animal Welfare Society).
