I met Peter through the Editors' Association of Canada's BC Branch, where he did so much to strengthen the organization and mentor new editors. He served as president of the executive, taught workshops, presented at meetings, and was always available for an information mentorship session—all you had to do was buy him a coffee. I'm happy I had a chance to share meals with him and talk about a range of subjects, and I'm sorry I never got to tell him I saw my first Wagner opera. Peter contributed so much to his community, and I know many people were enriched by his presence.
