In the fall of 1966 the””Connell boys” breezed into Bell High. Handsome, athletic and so nice. What a stir they caused. Cheerleaders organized a flurry of parties hoping to meet one of this gorgeous gang! Jim soon became a great friend and along withGlynn and Larry we set off to adventure through the next decades. How fortunate we were to find each other in such an extraordinary era, what great times we had. Life was good and we lived and enjoyed one another’s company. I will miss you Jim, much love xxx

Dear Connell family, I am very sorry to hear of Jim's passing. I knew him as a quiet, gentle, rather shy man when I lived with my family in Lanark county at George Wade's house.. He was steadfast and always kind, with gentle sense of humour. Susie Connell met Jim in that house and it was a pleasure to see their romance blossom.. I know he loved his new family.. I was so sad to hear that Jim had passed away. I worked with Jim at the Town Hall for 10+ years, and I had a deep admiration for his professionalism. He treated all of his co-workers with the utmost respect. My sincere condolences to his family.

I truly feel very fortunate to have known Jim. I have many memories with him as a child in their family home playing with my cousins and am happy I got to see him again in the Family Zoom quizzes a few years ago. Thank you Jim for all the kindness you showed me.

I was very surprised and saddened to learn of Jim's passing. I have many fond memories of lunchtime walks with 'the crew', shared humour and good times during his tenure at the Town. Jim was an authentically genuine person who applied himself in all that he committed to. I have always had the greatest respect for him. He will be missed by many. So very shocked to hear the news of Jims' passing. Many happy memories of summers spent babysitting Steph and Andrea. Jim was the strong, silent type and was hard to read if you didn't know him. His dry humour was always enjoyed and his smile heartfelt. Jim was a very hard working and talented man. We feel lucky to have one of his iron creations.
