Sincere condolences Aunt Lorraine, Laurie, Stephen, Lisa, Luann and families. May your fond memories bring you comfort at this difficult time.
Uncle Donny to me was always the quiet uncle with twinkly eyes and that special little smile. I will always remember a fast ride in his old Corvette!

I am sending my condolences to Mrs. Bell, Luann and the rest of the Bell family, I had the privilege of spending a lot of time around the Bell home when I was in elementary and high school. I always felt very welcome and looked forward to seeing both Don and Lorraine. They were very gracious, generous and fun people and invited me along on several overnight trips as a friend of Luann. We did short road trips to Watertown/Syracuse area for shopping and a big trip to Florida including Disneyworld, what a thrill! I remember how well Don treated his family and how he cherished his wife.
May you cherish all the old memories and be inspired by his courage and positive attitude over the last few years as he faced difficult health trials. Despite these challenges, he always seemed to be smiling whenever I saw him while visiting my parents. A real gentleman right to the end of his life. May God draw near to you in these difficult days.

Dear Lorraine , Laurie, Stephen, Lisa,.Luann and families. Our deepest condolences on the loss of Don.
I shall always remember when Don talked in his slow quiet voice,,,,, people listened. He always had a wise comment or a good joke.
Don and Lorraine always seemed to be at our house on Saturday nights to visit my dad and mom (Harold and Jean Fortner) for the Farrell Hall dances. My brother Steve and I had the pleasure of working with Jimmy Nixon to put in the cement blocks in the basement of the new Tom Street Bell Family home. My Dad and Don never missed a good gun show.
The entire Fortner family greatly appreciated and loved Don and I shall always remember Don's kind words at he eulogy for my late Dad. Don was a truly noble and humble man and he shall always be remembered by the entire Fortner family.
Best wishes at this time of sorrow.
Mike and Jacqueline Fortner

Lorraine, Laurie, Steve, Lisa, Luann and families, sending my most sincere condolences with Don's passing.
Don Bell. As a kid, I thought he was 10 feet tall and the coolest man on the planet. It seemed like I spent as much time around the Bell household in those years as my own, and i was lucky enough to be able to consider Don as a second Dad. He encouraged Steve and I in our many adventures, perhaps 'enabled' would be a better word, even the one's we didn't think he knew about !
As kids there was simply no better place to be than running the gunshow circuit with Don, Harold Fortner and later on Bill Batoff.
Grand times with very nice men, who treated us like we were equals in the group and managed to slip a lot of learning into the fun.
After University, I was fortunate to continue a long connection with Don. We continued to travel the gunshow circuit, hunted together, traded books and information on our hobbies and kept in touch. Many evening long phone discussions surrounding some obscure bit of information one of us had dredged up. Don had a very inquisitive mind and never stopped reading and learning.
Fifty years later, that kid's impression of Don has never dimmed.
I will remember Don Bell and our adventures together for as long as I have the power of thought.
Go In Peace, my friend.
