I grew up as one of the "old Sherbrooke Street kids", mentioned in so many of the other tributes, then as a home owner on Sherbrooke Street. Therefore, I have many wonderful memories of Mid. Dear Janice, Doug, David, John, and family, I am so sorry for your loss. Janice and David, your mother was very special, and she will be missed. I have many happy memories of her that come flooding back as I read her obituary. Your mom threw the best birthday parties ever! Pin-the-tail-on-the-donkey, prizes, and foil-wrapped coins evenly distributed in your birthday cakes, so everyone was a winner! Fun times at the cottage and her cheering us on when we played baseball under the stars in the ‘Darby’ field next door! Our Sherbrooke Street ‘family’ was made special by your mom’s presence, friendship and beautiful smile. What a blessing it was to grow up surrounded by so much love and so many happy memories. Our deepest condolences to Janice, David and families. I have so many great memories growing up across from your family and of you mom. Mid was another mom to the gang on Sherbrooke St and one of the few moms that joined us on the rink for a skate every winter. She always took time to talk to us as we grew up but she also listened when we need to talk. lee and I were fortunate to work with her at Mom's during income tax time. She was proud of her family and always brought me up to date on how everyone was. She was a very special lady and will be missed. Debbie (Leslie) and Lee Lamping

To Dave, Janice & families, Thinking of you all as you mourn the loss of your dear mother & grandmother. After reading Mid’s obituary it took me back to all the wonderful times we shared growing up on Sherbrooke street & especially with the Mott family. Mid was special in many ways, she was one of the only moms who could drive a car….hard to believe in this day & age. She threw the best birthday parties..she was always kind, she could do it all….if only every child could grow up on, “The Old Sherbrooke Street,”..it would be such a blessing ! Dear Dave, John, Janice, Doug and family, Dave and Janice, your Mom was a truly wonderful lady. I have memories of Aunt Mid from a young age. She was someone who always brought joy into the room. She was always interested in how others were doing and cared for family. Mid was a strong woman and I believe her faith gave her the will to carry on when life brought tragedy. She was a very generous lady as well. When I was ten, she gave me her adult bike. I still have wonderful memories of the fun I had riding her bike around Perth. Deepest condolences to all of Mid’s family. My memories go way back to living across the road on Sherbrooke Street. Mid was the Mom with a station wagon who loaded us up and drove to the Ottawa Ex. I was in awe of her for doing that. There are many memories of being at the cottage on Black Lack and her wonderful laugh. Later, as an adult, she always treated me with respect and showed interest in my family when we worked together with my Mom doing income taxes. We shared many laughs during those years as well as late nights of paperwork. She will always be remembered with a smile. Richard and Lynn Hamelin (Leslie)
