McConnell, Shirley E.
Peacefully at the John M. Parrott Centre, Napanee on Sunday, January 7th, 2024, Shirley passed away at the age of 87. Dearly loved wife of the late Gordon Lee McConnell. She was the cherished mother of Bruce McConnell, grandmother of Jadea G McConnell and Jadea’s mother Amy Gillan. Shirley was the loved sister-in-law of Howie (Carm) McConnell, Lorna (Bob) Hobbs, Hilda (Willis) Cleary, Fred (late Louis) Scott, Patsy McVeigh, and Ruth McVeigh. She will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Predeceased by her parents Hector and Lyla (Greer) McVeigh, and by her brothers Stanley and Robert, and by Murray McConnell and Arnold McConnell. The family wishes to thank the nursing staff & Doctor at The John M. Parrott Centre in Napanee, for their excellent & thoughtful care that they provided for Shirley during her time there.
Friends may pay their respects at the Blair & Son Funeral Home, 15 Gore St. W Perth on Friday, January 19th, 2024 from 12:00pm until the time of her funeral ceremony in the chapel at 2:00pm. Interment to follow in Elmwood Cemetery. In remembrance, contributions to the Perth & Smiths Falls District Hospital Foundation – Perth Site or St. Paul's United Church would be appreciated.
