Condolences to Donna and the family, and what a great photo of Fred. We shared many laughs and stories, often revolving around motorcycles. He was always so courageous and optimistic and a great member of the community. I am saddened by his passing; may he rest finally in peace.

Donna & family. We were so saddened to learn of Fred’s passing. Peter was on Fred’s platoon when he first joined GPS. You had hosted the shifts Christmas party, I was 18, & didn’t know a soul. Fred took both of us under his wing & made us feel most welcomed! A true gentleman. Peter always enjoyed his time with Fred. Our sincere condolences. May he RIP, he will be missed.

Donna and family, so sorry for your loss.
Fred was one of my favourite people at the Guelph Police Service, always with a smile on his face and never a bad thing to say about anything, and a dry sense of humour "second to none".
He will be missed.

Our deepest condolences to Donna and the family.
We are so saddened to hear of Fred’s passing.
We were so lucky to have known him as our friend and neighbor for the last 4 years.
He always had a smile on his face, even with all he was facing. He always took the time to stop and chat and had so many funny stories that kept us laughing.
You will be so missed by all whose lives you touched.
Rest peacefully now dearest Fred.

My sincere condolences to Donna and the family. I have many fond memories of Fred and his love for his family, his sports, and his job of policing, all of which he enjoyed full out. You only had to think of his reaction if you made the mistake of telling him the outcome of a game he had taped and was waiting to see to remind you of that seriousness!
As a colleague Fred was exemplary. I never contributed any of my grey hair to something Fred did or didn't do. The City of Guelph was well served by him.
Rest in peace Fred.
R.J. "Dick" Stewart,
Chief of Police(ret)

Dear Donna.
I am saddened to hear of Fred passing away. I have nothing but very, very fond memories of our visits in 'Eramosa' with you. Fred's zest for life and his enthusiasm for sports were so inspirational. We had such fun, so thank you for that. He kept us on our toes with his droll sense of humour. My heart goes out to you, the boys and your grandchild.

It was truly a pleasure to have Fred living in our neighbourhood. He did indeed have a good sense of humour and quick wit. We watched his courageous battle, and we were struck by his “let’s get at it” attitude as each complication was thrown at him. His zest for life was obvious even in his final year. We have no doubt that his bigger than life character and sense of humour would have made him a great platoon supervisor. Fred will certainly be missed. RIP dear friend!
