Nagle, Mary Theresa
Mary passed away in her 98th year on Wednesday, March 6th , 2024 at Carolina Retirement Home, Perth, Ontario. She was born in Carleton Place, Ontario on April 30th , 1926 to Rose (Frazeau) and Paul Percy. Mary is the last of her family of Helen Proux, Leo, Gerald, Bernard and Tony (Ella).
Moved to Perth in 1953 where she worked as a seamstress and at Tayside Textiles then Yarntex of Perth. At the age of 29 years she married Patrick Gerard Nagle of Almonte on October 1st, 1955. They had four children, Mary Paulette (deceased in infancy), James (Judy Miller), Angela (Roy) Lightbody and Colleen (Lawrence) Rogers.
Mary dedicated her life as “the best darn seamstress in town”. Her excellence to take a piece of fabric and designing many fashions for the towns’ folk. She also belonged to the Red Hat Ladies where everyone had a chuckle or two. She was a very excentric woman, her talents were many and she loved to make people laugh. She also dedicated much of her time to St. John’s Catholic Church singing in the choir and helping wherever she was needed.
Mary spent her last few years at Carolina Retirement Home in Perth. She truly lived a full and exciting life. She has left behind her grandchildren Jameson and Glenna (Lyle Smith) and great grandchildren Nathaniel, Lexi, Violet, William Smith, Curtis (Sarah) and David Rogers and the late Ben Rogers and many nieces and nephews.
Now reunited with her family may she forever laugh, dance and sing as she continues into her next chapter.
As Mary stated on her gravestone “she died as she lived trusting God”.
Funeral Mass will be held in St. Johns Catholic Church, 38 Wilson St E, Perth, on Friday, March 22nd, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. followed interment at St. John’s Cemetery, A reception will follow in the Family Centre at Blair & Son Funeral Home, 15 Gore St. West, Perth. Donation in memory of Mary to the Perth & Smiths Falls District Hospital – MRI Campaign or St John’s Catholic Church would be appreciated.
