Loughren, Douglas ‘Dougie’

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Dougie on Saturday, March 9, 2024 at the age of 76 after a hard fought battle with cancer. He leaves behind his beloved wife of over 33 years Margo Halpin. Devoted and loving father to Jason (Jamie) Loughren and Kristopher Loughren. Much loved grandpa to Kohen and Sophie Loughren. Also missed by Carol, John, Arielle and Rory Kotacka.

Born April 23, 1947 in Valcartier, Quebec to Harry and Janey Loughren. He will be sadly missed by sisters Linda (late Jean-Louis Johnston) and Carol (late James Monaghan), brother-in-law Bruce (Cindy) Halpin and many nieces, nephews, cousins and a vast number of very good friends from coast to coast. Predeceased by brothers Gerard and Leonard (Colette) Loughren and sister Gloria (John Goodfellow) and in-laws Johnny and Dianne Halpin.

As per Dougie’s wishes there will be no service. Private family burial and celebration at a later date. In memory of Dougie, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
