Marion McDougall Tait Howard
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our mom Marion Howard on March 22, 2024. She passed peacefully in her sleep in the Perth Hospital in her 108th year. She was predeceased by her parents William Lang Tait and Annie Jessie O’Brien Tait, her husband Borden Johnston Howard, sister Jessie Tait, infant son, daughter Sharon Elizabeth Howard Stedman (Jim), and grandson Robert “Robbie” Neal Howard. Survived by daughter Muriel Dillabough (Bob), son Bob Howard (Shirley), 5 grandsons and 12 great-grandchildren. Mom enjoyed travel and her time at the cottage. She was always learning. She attended the Royal Conservatory of Music (vocals), graduated from Guelph University with a BHS, from Queens as a dietitian, and in Toronto attended business school. She taught at SFDCI and was involved in many organizations, including 20 years of volunteering at the Smiths Falls Hospital. The family would like to thank the staff and care givers at Carolina Retirement Living and the doctors and nurses at the Perth Hospital for their excellent care and compassion. As per mom’s wishes cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held later. In lieu of flowers a donation in her memory to the Smiths Falls Food Bank or a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.
