Cox, Rickey Frederick

Rick, age 65, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 1, 2024, at the Perth Hospital surrounded by his family and friends. He was diagnosed with ALS on May 30, 2022, and lived everyday to the best of his abilities, which declined a little bit each day. He will be deeply missed by his wife Debra (nee Richards) to whom he was married for 42 years and together with for 47 years. He was the cherished father of Tamara (Terry) Leonard, and Ryan Cox. He was the treasured grandfather of Ava, Brooklyn and Grayson Leonard. Survived by his father Frederick Cox, and mother-in-law Lois Richards, and was the dear brother of Catherine Dunham, and Frederick Cox, and the brother-in-law of Stephen and Michael Richards. Rick was predeceased by his mom Claire and by his beloved grandparents Clayton and Melissa Cox. He will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, extended family, and lifelong friends.

Rick’s memorial service and interment will be held on Saturday, May 25th, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. in St. Stephen’s Anglican Church, Brooke, ON. In honour of him, memorial contributions to the ALS Society of Canada would be greatly appreciated.

Rick, you endured more than anyone could imagine, and I will miss you every day. Until we meet again.
