It is with heavy hearts the family of Pauline (Lewis) Hale announces that she passed away peacefully 4 days shy of her 101st birthday. Predeceased by her husband Bill in 2008 and in 2009 by her dear daughter-in-law Laura and son-in-law Wayne Pow. She will be missed forever by her children Kathryn Pow, Harry (Marianna) and Bill (Chris); grandchildren Jason (Lisa), Kelly, Kevin (Susan), Derek (Candice), Michael (Melissa) and Colin (Genevieve); great grandchildren Evan, Mathew, Malcolm, Lily, Nora, Kent, Rockwell and Gabriella; her sister Mollie Hardy of Halifax, Nova Scotia and predeceased by her sister Dorothy Williams. She will also be missed by many nieces and nephews and her many dear friends.
Pauline was born in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia and grew up in Halifax. She was a proud graduate of Mount Allison University. Pauline and Bill lived in Montreal, Granby, Drummondville and finally settling in Perth in 1969, where they enjoyed many years on Otty Lake. In 1973 Pauline and Bill founded The Mill Store. Pauline was blessed with good health and was able to send emails and play "Words With Friends", which she won most of the time.
The family wishes to extend their very warm thanks to Dr. Bob Van Noppen, the Perth Hospital Emergency Staff, and the caring staff at Carolina Retirement Residence, who were a special part of her life for the last 14 years.
In keeping with Pauline's wishes, there will be no funeral service. Cremation has taken place and a private family ceremony will take place at a later date. For those who wish to make a memorial donation please consider the Perth and Smiths Falls District Hospital Foundation or just perform a simple act of kindness in her memory.
Arrangements are in the care of Blair & Son Funeral Directors, Perth.
