Thinking of you Carole, Stephen, Robert, Andrew & your families as you gather together to celebrate "Honey, Dad, Pop, Grampie, Grampa" to all of you and Donald, a dear friend to us.
From our very first taste of Donald's maple syrup we knew it had been made with the utmost of TLC.
As we shared suppers together, Donald would offer the blessing, always closing in Spanish, how he loved to perfect his languages.
Most of all, Doug & I enjoyed a friendship with both Carole & Donald of almost 60 years ...raising families, settling into jobs & careers and experiencing moves, our friendship thrived.
Now, at this difficult time, may you find peace & comfort as you share in cherished memories of this amazing msn with family & friends.

There are few men as great as Mr. Foster, my father-in-law of 20 years. To know him was to love him, and that I did. He was the hardest-working man I’ve ever met. He picked every single rock that he used to build the most stunning 3-storey chimney in our Newbliss home. He spent endless days building and repairing fences for my horses. He plowed fields and cut and stacked hay, a job meant for 20-year-olds, but he never complained and led the way, always with joy in his heart. He took me hiking with Emmitt, our goofy Golden Retriever. I will forever cherish those memories of time in nature with him. He became a fabulous horseman, helping to train our Canadian mare Leah to drive a sleigh. I loved riding out to the sugar bush during maple season, knowing he’d be there tinkering and I could just spend time chatting with him while he kept a watchful eye on his maple syrup. I loved that he spoke French with me. His passion for languages and learning inspires us all to never stop learning. I’m honoured to be the mother of 2 of his 5 beloved grandchildren. His blood flows through my precious boys, Samuel, and Maxime, and I hope that whenever they’re faced with a problem, they ask themselves, “What would Grampie do?” and do that because their Grampie always chose love, hard work, family, loyalty and compassion.
My heartfelt condolences to Mrs Foster, Stephen, Robert, Andrew and Magda.
Love,
Caroline

Carole, Stephen, Robert, Andrew and their families. So sorry to hear of Donalds passing. We have so many great memories of times spent with the Foster family. So many good times in the sugar bush. Best syrup ever. It is with a heavy heart that we say goodby. Gods speed. Love Wayne, Penny, Philip, Jess, Skyler, Brittney, Rose and Desmond.

Our sincere sympathy to Carole, Stephen, Andrew, Robert and Family
Donald was indeed a special man. I only wish that I had known him better and longer. I loved being in his presence. He could be jovial and sincere. He was a gentleman to the end. He carried my grocery out to my car about a year ago. Donald fought his battle with cancer with dignity. I will cherish my memories as I know you will. May all of these memories help to console you as you celebrate Donald. Blessings

Carole, Stephen, Robert & Andrew and Grandchildren
My deepest condolences to the Family, he fought a hard fight.
Donald was a walking encyclopedia, and a numbers man. He could recall history from our former parishes, hopefully he wrote some of it down. He devoted many hours trying to maintain repairs of the church if he was able.
He was a storyteller and shared his younger years of being in the west and of his years playing ball.
Recalled his walks to Athens for Church suppers and loved being in the bush or just I being out in nature.
I’m was very honoured to serve with him on Parish Council. Devoted Family man and when you seen Donald, Carole was close behind. Loved his Church and he will truly be missed.
