Obituary of Ray Truelove
Truelove, George Raymond
Peacefully at Lanark Lodge, after a long illness, Ray passed away on Wednesday, June 19th, 2024 at the age of 79. He was the beloved husband of Rita (McCarthy), and the loving father of Gilaine Truelove (son-in-law Michael Farrant), Alison (Paul Bennett) Truelove Bennett and Dan (Katie) Truelove. Ray was the cherished grandfather of Georgia Farrant, Sydney Farrant, Rachel Bennett, Kendra Bennett, Jacob Truelove, Zachary Truelove and Lindsay Truelove. He was predeceased by his parents Victor and Grace Truelove (Robinson) and step-father Walter Derbyshire as well as siblings Irene, Bernice, Jimmy, Shirley and Joyce. Ray will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, extended family, friends, and co-workers at Jergens (Perth Soap) where he worked for many years.
The family wish to thank all the nurses and staff at Lanark Lodge, specifically in the Maples and Evergreens, for all their support, care and compassion over the years.
A memorial mass will be held at St. John’s Catholic Church 38 Wilson St. E. Perth, ON on Monday, June 24th, 2024 at 11:00am. Interment will follow in St. John’s Cemetery, Perth. There will be a reception immediately following at Blair and Son Funeral Home. In honour of Ray, memorial contributions to the Lanark Lodge Resident Activity Fund or The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
