To the family of Garneita,
I was very saddened to read of the passing of Garneita!
We knew each other from Smiths Falls, but I got to know her better when we were both in nursing school and in nursing in Brockville.
She was a delightful Lady!
May Garneita rest in peace.
Don Cooper,
Kingston, Ontario.

Dear Family,
For me, Garneita will always be remembered with a stick in one hand poking at the fire on the campground. She roll those logs over, looking for the best, highest flame. She's share stories of growing up with friends, and fun antics she would get into when parental eyes weren't watching. Garneita felt strongly about some things, ripping down some offensive posters from telephone poles in downtown Brockville if she decided they were not appropriate.
While looking out her home front window, she kept watch on her neighbourhood, reporting to the city of Brockville anything that needed their attention. If they didn't respond fast enough, she'd call again. Things need to be right, and they are the people responsible she'd say. Boy what the world couldn't do with a few more people that cared about more than just themselves.
Garneita cared about YOU and she let you know that. That care extended beyond family to friends. She could be stern but loving to.
Can you sew this for me?
She gather it up and sew it restoring the garment back to its original usefulness. She loved crafts with yarn. Rug hookings, wall hangings, table top clothes, and the odd knitted hangers so you could hang a small towel on your stove or cupboard door knob. No job too little or big. She loved doing them.
Talented, caring, invested, sharing, kind hearted, and love extended as she lighthoused her own character to share with you, someone she valued.
Gareita, you will be missed. There is a hole behind where you once stood. Let our memories of time you invested with us continue to light our way as we remember you.
Prayers Michael Verburg and Diana Steele
