My Uncle Geoff was a wonderful person and an extremely close relative to me. Our family visited Geoff and Bea, and latterly Geoff and Flo, on many occasions and had the best of times with them. I first visited when I was 18 with my cousin Paul, we worked at Smith,Irwin & Conley, and spent the summer on his boat on the Rideau lake, visiting Toronto and Montreal and have many happy memories of the time spent with Geoff. Geoff always had time for people, loved to socialise, and could never sit still for more than a minute !
He loved life, lived it to the full and seldom complained about anything unless the Blue Jays had lost !
He was an accomplished athlete, cross country runner, table tennis player and a fair golfer, although he did frequently use his " foot wedge" to get his ball back onto the fairway!
I will miss talking to him and will remember him forever.
Rest in peace

It was a pleasure to know, love and to take care of Geoffrey during his stay at the lodge. I will greatly miss his sense of humour, singing and his wit.

Uncle Geoff has always been a warm and loving presence in my life. I have countless fond memories of spending time with him and Auntie Bea. I loved watching him sing in the choir and I loved his laugh. He will be greatly missed by my family and I.

I first met Geoff in 1964 when we rented a house with 2 others in Toronto. G was the only one who knew how to cook, we
didn't eat well but we had a lot of parties! Geoff and I bought a horse "Otis Lee" which we cheered one in several races, only
to be disappointed. On retirement we spent several winters in Sand Piper Cove, Destin, playing tennis, golf and berth.
Condolences tones family in Australia an U.K.

So, where to start? So many happy memories of my favourite uncle. He would light up any occasion with his warmth and huge sense of fun. I especially remember those summers in Smith Falls playing table tennis with cousin Peter in the rec room. Uncle Geoff would disappear for a few minutes, and then while engrossed in another epic battle with Peter, I’d see a tomahawk appearing in the corner of the window, which then moved along the entire width. Then a few feathers, then Uncle Geoff’s head would pop up in full native head-dress! He was always the keen gardener, often sending photos of his crops, including shop bought zucchini taped onto fledgling plants! Then there were the games of cards, especially 99 at Christmas which imbued us all with a love of games, and which has passed onto younger generations. What an inspiration, he will be sorely missed.

We spent many wonderful winters at Sandpiper Cove, Destin, Florida where we also had the privilege of meeting Carol. Geoffrey's love of music and theatrical presentations greatly added to the many social events. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family.

It was an honour and a privilege to accompany Carol to Canada (from Australia) in 2023 to visit her dad. They were both elated. Geoffrey wanted us to know that he had had such a great and full life and we couldn’t agree more. Love to Allie and Carol.

I am greatly saddened by the passing of my Dad, Geoffrey. Dad was a very positive person and would always say “I’m terrific” when anyone asked him how he was.
Dad enjoyed his seafood, cheese, medicinal brandy, sailing, golf, cards and gardening. He also loved to “shoot the breeze” with his family, friends and neighbours. I have very happy memories of the times we spent together in the United Kingdom, Canada, USA and Australia.
Dad was very fortunate to have a wonderful group of friends. I am very grateful to Dad’s friends, especially Karen and Bud, who supported Dad during his twilight years when his family was so far away.
Love you, Dad.
