Obituary of Norm Hall

Norm passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, August 30, 2024, at the age of 75.  Beloved husband of Kim (Quibell) Devoted and cherished father of Tracy (Brian) Konink, Candace (Michael) MacGregor and Terry (Ashley) Hall.  Proud grandfather of Brayden (Madison), and Belle (Connor) Konink, Vincent and William MacGregor and Brayden, Jordane, Myah and Harley Hall. Left to mourn this loss are his siblings Sheila (late Pat) Kehoe , Eva (late Russell) Sullivan , Wilfred (Joann) Hall, and John (Judy) Hall.  Norm is also predeceased by his parents Vincent and Beulah (nee Wilson) and his sister Lena (late Charlie) Hannah. He will be fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, always their Uncle Norm, and extended family and friends.

Norm was a long-time employee of Wampole’s in Perth before taking on his own venture with Kim purchasing Pizza Delight in Smiths Falls. It would eventually become Norm’s Restaurant where everyone knew it was the place to take your entire family for a Family Feast or a slice of pizza and a pop.  Norm did not like to raise the prices because he was always thinking about families and what they would be able to afford. He took a lot of pride in his business and was a sponsor to several of his grandchildren hockey and wrestling teams. In his younger years Norm was an avid sportsmen, you would often find him on the ice rink with his brothers playing hockey in the winter and during the summer many days were spent playing baseball with the McIntosh boys.

As Norm grew older his passions would change. His weekends often included a good game of golf with his brother-in-law Russell, or a fishing derby where he would almost always place in the top three, once bringing home a new boat and trailer to Kim’s delight.

Norm’s biggest blessings were his family and friends. His fondest memories were of sitting around the table with them all on a Saturday night listing to country music, or listening to his friends play their guitars and fiddles and the song books were laid out on the table .

He will always be remembered as a Bruin fan, it was constant in the family home for Norm. He would be in his favourite chair with a rum in hand, yelling at the team when they missed the net or cheering when they scored .

We take peace in knowing Dad will be reunited with his Mother, Father, sister, brothers-in-law and many good friends that have passed before him. We know they were all there to greet him and hopefully Waylon was singing as he walked thru the gates.

We could not have asked for a better Husband, Dad or Grandfather.  He will be missed beyond what words could ever express, and an emptiness that can never be filled.  He was such a gentle, kind hearted man who always put his family first.  We will love you forever
