Obituary of Diana Sue Thubron

Passed away suddenly on September 16, 2024 at the Ottawa Heart Institute following open heart surgery.  Diana was the cherished wife of Gary for 55 years, the beloved mother of Jackie (Ian) and a wonderful grandmother to Mackenzie (Evan) and Rhys. She was very much loved by her brother Gil Gulley (Nancy) also by her brother-in-law Jack Thubron (Elinor) and sister-in-law Honora Thubron.  She will be lovingly remembered by her nieces Amanda (Patrick), Judi (Don), Cheryl (Stephen) and Laura (Blaine) as well as her nephews Jason (Deanna), Brian (Cindy) and Doug (Louise). Diana will also be remembered by her several great nieces and nephews, her two great-great nephews and her grandkitties.  Diana's life was devoted to her family and her amazing friends, most especially Pauline Hughes, Suzanne Jalbert and the Percy Street PEEP'S who will miss her dearly.  She was a natural care giver and found her calling as a nurse,  graduating from the Kingston General Hospital School of Nursing  (class of 1967).  Many thanks to Dr. Brian Penney and his staff at The Rideau Community Health Services for the great health care provided to Diana (and Gary) over many years and kudos to the incomparable Ottawa Heart Institute.  A celebration of Diana’s life will take place at a later date.  If desired, memorial donations to the University of Ottawa Heart Institute or the Lanark Animal Welfare Society (LAWS) would be greatly appreciated by the family.
