John was a great friend of Les Jardins de Métis (Reford Gardens) and of the Reford family. He visited often, bringing his wit, wisdom, sense of humour and occasional impertinence. He had fond memories of life in Metis and was generous in sharing his memories with historians, writers, journalists, friends and family. We were privileged to welcome John and Judy on many occasions and to meet the Bufton clan when they visited for celebrations. The Bufton name is part of our history ... so much so that we named one of our restaurants to honour the family. We so miss Evelyn and regret that John too has left us.
