Wood, William John

Called home to be with his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on Saturday October 5, 2024, at the Smiths Falls District Hospital, six days prior to his 83^rd birthday. Devoted husband and best friend to Heather Wood (nee Hughes). Loving father to Robbie (Cathy) Wood, Paul (Beth) Wood, and Jo-Anne (Jon) Fletcher. Dearly loved grandpa of Shane and Dakota Wood, Lauren, Carter, Austin and Taylor Wood, and Meredith, Lorelai and Addyson Fletcher. Also survived by brother-in-law Ron Holman and sisters-in-law Marilyn Waugh and Marg Hughes. Fondly remembered by several nieces, nephews, and extended family members. Bill is predeceased by his son Kevin Wood, his parents John “Jack” and Helen (nee Coleman) Wood, his infant brother James Wood, and his twin sister Elizabeth “Betty” Holman. The family would like to thank Bayshore Home Health Nurse Courtney, Lanark County Paramedics, Drs. Haley, Setterfield, Ong, and Haddad, and the dedicated Smiths Falls Hospital staff for their compassionate care. Friends may pay their respects at the Blair & Son Funeral Home, Smiths Falls on Wednesday October 9^th from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Funeral service will be held in the chapel on Thursday October 10^th at 1:30 p.m. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.
