Obituary of Noreen Patricia Tyers

Noreen passed away in hospital in Ottawa on Sunday October 6th, 2024 in her 86th year. She will be greatly missed by daughter and best friend Teri to whom she loved and admired and will be forever proud of & her husband Blair White who was always there to lend a helping hand and his opinion on their gallivanting and adventures.  Her grandsons were the light of her life; she   was extremely proud of both Benjamin White (Elaina) who lives in Calgary and Emmett White (Charlotte) who lives in Carleton Place.  She was predeceased by husband Gerry (they married 1961), son Patrick Tyers, brothers Jack Regan and Brian Regan, her parents Norah Jessie Lahey born Ottawa Ontario and Thomas Joseph Regan born in Rochdale Lancashire England. Her love of family, thoughtfulness and kindness towards others will be missed by her sister Grace (Darryl) Barton, sisters-in-law Jane (Bill) Law, Bonnie (the late Jack Regan), Eva May (Donald) Hamilton and brother-in-law Ernest “Bud” (Carol) Tyers.  "Aunt Neen” will be missed by many nieces and nephews and her loving companion  Ruffy who she penned many comical stories of his adventures.  Noreen was a homemaker when her children were younger and loved her life at the "House of Old" in Hopetown.  In later years she worked at The Children’s Aid Society and made wonderful friends there.  Noreen was an avid and passionate writer of whimsical stories creating fictional characters and self-reflections. Her book called “Recollections” was published by the Lanark County Genealogy Society and the Ottawa Genealogy Society who also published many of her works from her tales of living in Ottawa.  Her gardens were her pride and joy at both of her Perth homes where she enjoyed many hours puttering about.  Friends may pay their respects at the Blair & Son Funeral Home, 15 Gore St. W., Perth on Thursday October 17th, 2024 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M.  Funeral service will be held in the chapel Friday October 18th, 2024 at 10:00 A.M. followed by a reception in the Blair & Son Family Centre.  In remembrance of Noreen, memorial donations to the Ottawa Heart Institute or the Perth & Smiths Falls District Hospital would be appreciated.
