To Bill's family, please accept my most heart felt condolences for your loss. It brought me great sadness today to learn of Bill’s passing.
I had the magnificent pleasure of meeting Bill in the 80’s through our mutual friend, Reg Foulkes. Bill was one of the kindest people that I have ever met. He possessed the most wonderful gift for bringing serenity and a general feeling of well-being when I was with him. While I have not seen him in too many decades, I maintain fond memories of Bill.
Indeed, I am the Jim that sold Bill the "damn-Pony" that Reg refers to in his tribute. I hope that someday we will meet again on the other side, and I have the means and opportunity to gift Bill a shiny mustang, or set of fancy wings if that is how angels get around, to make up for that "damn-Pony".
RIP Bill.

I am deeply saddened to share a memory of my friend, Bill, who left us so suddenly. It's hard to put into words what a wonderful person he was and the impact he had early in my life.
I remember the times we spent training together in martial arts—those long, exhausting sessions that somehow always ended with him kicking me in the ribs. We pushed each other to be better, both physically and mentally, and afterward, we'd head to the local Chinese restaurant to practice using chopsticks with our left hands. Those moments will always stay with me.
I also remember the time when Bill bought Jim's Hyundai, affectionately known as "the-damn-Pony," which was only a few years old. We decided to take a long weekend camping trip to Algonquin Park. Bill knew of a one-way lumber road on the back end of the park, so we took it. At the dead end, we hiked a few kilometers to reach our camping spot. After a few wonderful days of canoeing and camping, we returned to "the-damn-Pony" to make our way back to Ottawa. Unfortunately, as soon as we started the car, the engine blew, leaving us momentarily wondering what to do.
Bill, as always, knew exactly what to do. He took Jim's name and "the-damn-Pony" in vain, and then we laughed and swore about the situation. We decided the best course of action was to fill the canoe with all our gear and hike out of the park, which we did. I grabbed the back end of the canoe, he grabbed the front, and we hiked about five kilometers to the nearest town. We dropped the canoe beside the closest bar and went in to call for help. While waiting for my future wife to come pick us up, we continued to laugh about our misfortune. When the bill finally came, I said, "Let me pick up the 'William,'" to which he replied, "Maybe we should call all bills 'the-damn-pony.'" It was one of those moments that perfectly captured his spirit—turning a potentially stressful situation into an unforgettable adventure, always with humor.
Connie, Derek, and Olivia, Michelle and I are sending our deepest sympathies for your loss. This happen way to fast.

Bill and I had been working closely together for many years here in Lockheed Martin Canada, where we were trained and teamed up together in some projects. We exchanged ideas of technical issues, in different fields of science, politics, pets, and especially I learned a lot from his knowledge of astronomy. We worked together, joked together and laughed together. Bill will be deeply missed.

I had the pleasure of working with Bill at Lockheed for over 29 years. We joined the company within weeks of each other. Bill was a consummate professional and could always be counted on to get the job done. But even more, he was a friend with great sarcastic wit and humor. I enjoyed how effortlessly he could transition between joking about the absurdities of the modern workplace to big-picture discussions about the world around us and our place in the universe. God speed Bill, you will be sorely missed!
My sincere condolences to Connie, Olivia and Derek.

Dearest Steve, Lorna, Kathy, and Lyle,
Growing up in the country next door to the Lundy's was an idyllic experience. I fondly recall afternoons when our fathers took all seven of us kids on hikes together. Our dad, a retired R.S.M., and Mr. Lundy, a pilot in the Airforce who heroically liberated parts of the Netherlands and dropped food across war-torn Europe, were true heroes in our eyes.
Billy, the youngest of our group, was a sweet, shy darling child who grew into a charming man. My heartfelt memories make me KNOW how his Family, will miss him dearly.
Please accept our most sincere and heartfelt condolences.
