Carpenter, Myrtle Peacefully with family by her side Myrtle left us to join God's Heavenly Choir on Thursday, April 26th, 2012. Predeceased by her husband George Carpenter, her parents Margaret and Ansley Green and her brother Ronnie Green. Loving mother of Rick (Yvonne) and Kim Harris, Vicky (Phillip) Thompson, Michelene (Randy) Smith; stepmother of Robert (Kathleen), Joe (Linda), Jeff, Bruce (Frances), Duncan (Debbie) Carpenter and Sherry (Jim) Burke. She will be sadly missed by her 21 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Dear sister of Helen (John) Parberry and sister-in-law of Heather Green. Myrtle came to Lanark 22 years ago and soon joined St. Andrew's United Church as the organist, retiring in 2010. Myrtle loved music and spending time with family and friends on her farm. Never complaining, she was an inspiration to all those who knew her. Friends may pay their respects at the Young Funeral Home, Lanark on Sunday, April 29th, 2012 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. Funeral service will be held in St. Andrew's United Church, Lanark on Monday at 10:00 A.M. Interment, Hopetown Cemetery. In remembrance, contributions to the Canadian Cancer Society or St. Andrew's United Church, Lanark would be appreciated.
