Paul, Marion Edna (nee McLaren) April 11, 1935 ~ June 6, 2012 In hospital in Perth in the presence of her family, on Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at the age of 77. Marion grew up in Pine Grove and Lanark and moved 8 miles away to Hoods, where she and her husband Brien worked together on the Paul farm and continued the maple syrup tradition. They established Paul's Maple Products in the mid 60's that continues to this day. Over her lifetime, Marion tirelessly worked for her community - from telephone operator, teaching school to secretary for the Forest Co-Operative, various positions for Ontario Maple Syrup Producers Association, McDonald's Corners Agricultural Society, Watson's Corners Hall and eminent judge of maple syrup at local fairs. She was known as the first lady of Maple with the North American Maple Syrup Hall of Fame. Most events benefited from Marion's culinary abilities in the pies, squares and cakes department. Marion and Brien have crossed this continent many times by car, plane and train ride with trips leading east, west, north and south. Marion was the hub of family events and will be forever in the hearts of her loved ones. She leaves behind her husband Brien of 59 years, daughter Kathy Matusiak (Jim), son Wayne (Jane), son Darrell (Christine) and grandchildren Nathan, Kari, TJ, Aaron, Kelly, Jamie, Emily, Ben, Martin, Anna, Nolan and so many more friends and relatives. Friends may pay their respects at the Blair & Son Funeral Home, 15 Gore St. W. Perth on Friday, June 8th, 2012 from 1 to 4 and 6 to 9 P.M. Funeral service will be held in St. Andrew's United Church, Lanark on Saturday at 11:00 A.M. Interment, St. Andrew's Cemetery, Watson's Corners. In remembrance, contributions to the St. Andrew's Cemetery or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
