Auntie Mandy and Sindi - I love you and know you will continue to carry the warmth and joyous spirit Doug shared with the world.

Buhle and family, I am sorry for your loss. I enjoyed meeting Doug on a number of occasions. Doug the Painter was a good man. I also enjoyed working with you Buhle in health care and visiting your home. My sympathies to all of the family at this difficult time.

I remember fondly the times spent at the farm in Newcastle. I was just a little girl but I remember Uncle Doug gleefully showing all of us DeVries kids his chicken farm. I also have warm memories of Uncle Doug’s love for animals, especially dogs and horses. Uncle Doug I will miss your larger than life smile and your zest for life. I know you are resting in peace in heaven! Love Mary Doran (nee DeVries)
My sincere sympathy is extended to Buhle and her extended family on the passing of Doug. Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers and hope that Fond Memories of Doug will help to sustain you through this sad time.
God Bless!
He was very friendly and welcoming in his home. He would offer you anything you needed. He had a positive attitude and liked to have a good time. He will be missed. Love, Amy
Rest well Mnu Devries. The Lord has taken you back to his fold, where there is no pain and suffering. We will remember you for a lot of things, but more so your smile and straight talking about life. Rest in peace.
