Obituary of Sandy Deachman

It is with heavily saddened hearts that we announce the passing of Russell Alexander "Sandy" Deachman on Thursday January 20th, 2022.  Sandy was the beloved and cherished husband of 59 years to Lorna (Storie).  Loving father of Kerry (Natalie Picard), Kevin (Cristiana Maddalena) and Trevor (Cindy Mott).  Grandfather to Jessica (Adam Norwood), Stefan (Mary Katherine Duncan), Austen and Isabella and Adam and Matthew.  Great grandfather to Owen and Eli Norwood and Weston and Aubree Deachman.  Sandy was predeceased by his father Russell (Alice Howes), mother Margaret (Hutcheson), sisters Joan (Tony Celsie) and Linda (Walter Horne).  He will be missed by his brother John (Rose Mary), sister Mary Anne (late John Rudy) and many nieces, nephews, extended family, friends and the Storie clan.  Sandy was a dedicated employee of The Brown Shoe Company for over 40 years.  More recently, he enjoyed working part-time with his Giant Tiger family and spending time at his homestead in Flower Station. 
Due to COVID restrictions the service will be held privately for the family.  A celebration of Sandy's life will take place this summer following his interment in Clyde Forks, ON. Arrangements are in the care of Blair & Son Funeral Directors, Perth.  In remembrance of Sandy, contributions to the Lanark Animal Welfare Society (L.A.W.S.), 253 Glenview Road, Smiths Falls, ON K7A 4S4 or the Perth & Smiths Falls District Hospital Foundation, 33 Drummond St. West, Perth ON K7H 2K1 would be appreciated.
