Obituary of Peter Alexander Teeple
Peter Alexander Teeple (former owner of McCreary’s Beach Resort, Mississippi Lake)
It is with such sorrow that we announce on Monday, March 14th, 2022, Peter passed away peacefully at Almonte General Hospital, Rosamund Unit. A smart, kind, hardworking man who loved his family, he was funny with a great sense of humour. He lived a good life.
Peter graduated from Ryerson Institute of Technology top of his class in Hotel, Resort, and Restaurant Administration (1962). He obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree from McMaster University. After Teaching in Toronto and Ottawa (Highland Park High School) for a period of time, Peter joined his mother, Helen Teeple, as a partner in their much loved family business, McCreary’s Beach. Always a forward-thinker, Peter nurtured McCreary’s Beach Resort to become a destination for vacationers and locals alike. Peter managed the business with his wife, Nancy, and they worked side by side for many years. It was a love they both shared.
In 2010, Peter sold McCreary’s Beach and retired to enjoy the next chapter. He and Nancy enjoyed life together, family, travel, and their other favourite place - Daytona Beach, Florida.
Left to miss this wonderful man is his wife and soulmate, Nancy (Hyndman). Much loved Dad of Sally (Bill) Devine, Stephanie (Robert) Munn, David (Mary) Doran, Melissa (Jim) Licari, and Mackenzie Teeple (Alan McLoughlin). Adored Grampa to Connor, Olivia, Maryn and Jennifer Devine; Aidan and Meredith Munn; Nicholas Doran; Allie and Jackson Licari. Good friend and much loved son-in-law to Bonnie Hyndman. Brother-in-law of Michael Hyndman, Carole-Ann (Bill) Donaldson, and Brent (Debbie) Martin. Peter was predeceased by his mom and dad, Helen (Campbell) Teeple and Alex Teeple.
We would like to thank the staff of the Rosamund Unit for their excellent care and compassion. Your kindness will never be forgotten.
