I had the pleasure working with Margie Ann on many projects for a number of years in my capacity with the ALCDSB. Her commitment to her faith, in general, and to Catholic education, in particular, were unwavering. She was rock-solid dependable in all she did, and was never without a smile. Thank you, Margie Ann, for your selfless service.

Margie Ann was a woman whose choices in life were deeply rooted in her faith. She was warm and generous, a leader and an organizer. Nothing seemed too big for her to tackle nor too small to elicit her attention. We now have one more advocate in heaven to intercede for us and for our world.

Margie Ann was such a beautiful person inside and out. She always had a smile and always found her way to see me and spend time catching up at the CWL Conventions. She was a teacher at St. Linus Catholic School in Bath and was my younger sister's teacher. I was a year ahead but always spent time on the playground etc. Rest in Peace Margie.

Every picture of Margie Ann shows her radiant smile & shows her joy of life. I was blessed to attend the pilgrimage that she organized to Ireland for the Eucharistic Conference. We visited many spiritual areas, but also we stopped by many pubs and enjoyed laughter! In true form, Margie Ann planned an Irish party upon our return. Margie Ann never hesitated when asked to help -always ready to share her God given gifts. A great example to all she encountered.

Margie Ann was a valued member of the staff of the Archdiocese of Kingston. Here are two staff pictures -- the first with Archbishop Spence, and the second with Archbishop O'Brien.

Margie Ann was a wonderful colleague and friend. I was privileged to work with her for many years at the Pastoral Centre of the Archdiocese of Kingston. Margie Ann was a gifted teacher and administrator who was seconded by the Archdiocese to take on the important position of Coordinator of Religious Education. In that role, she worked closely with the school boards within the area of the Archdiocese to develop and fine tune Catholic education programs at the elementary, secondary, and university levels, as well as adult religious education programs. She facilitated regular meetings of religious education consultants from each school board and chaplains from each of the high schools. Another of Margie Ann's initiatives was bringing together the chaplains of the many prisons within the Archdiocese and facilitating monthly prison chaplain meetings. Margie Ann also developed a network of interfaith leaders and facilitated regular ecumenical meetings. Another significant accomplishment of this remarkable woman was writing with Father Ed Jackman an updated history of the Archdiocese of Kingston. This invaluable publication, 'Springing from the Rock: A Portrait of the Archdiocese of Kingston 1976-2001' continues the story of the Archdiocese begun in the publication 'Built on a Rock'. Margie Ann's dedication and spirit of service were an inspiration to all who worked with her. She was a constant support to the three successive Archbishops she served and cheerfully took on any new challenge that was presented to her. One of those challenges was facilitating a committee to determine the needs of the parishes of the Archdiocese and a subsequent implementation committee. Margie Ann was a tireless worker who commuted every day to our office in Kingston from her home in Smiths Falls (a full hour and a half each way!) She would confidently drive in all kinds of weather -- even the ice storm of 1998 could not stop her! She would often be our delivery or pick-up service at parishes along the way. Margie Ann was eternally cheerful and incredibly kind. She was an accomplished pianist who shared her skill with us by accompanying our staff Masses and gatherings. She hosted us at her lovely home and was an enthusiastic member of our Archdiocesan Birthday Girls Club. Margie Ann McKinnon will be greatly missed and long remembered by all who worked with her and all the people whose lives she touched throughout her years of service. May she rest in eternal peace.

To all of Margie Ann's loved ones. We wish to express our condolences. Occasionally Margie Ann played music for our Mass in Lanark. She was a familiar face often seen in the Archdiocesan newspaper and a lovely lady to talk to in person. She and all of you are in our thoughts and prayers. May she rest in peace.

I knew Margie Ann from my years in Smiths Falls at St Francis de Sales. I remember her as one of the most consistently happy and optimistic people I have ever known. She was a wealth of knowledge and always so calm in her approach to things. Her involvement CWL and church was constant and appreciated. God rest your soul Margie Ann. Thank you for being a light of God in my world. -Shelley
