We send our deepest heartfelt expressions of sympathy, condolences and love to you as you and your family grieve Val’s passing. We are still awash with great sadness and like so many other people we were so devastated to learn of Val’s passing. We want you to know our hearts ache alongside you and your family at this incredibly difficult time.
In these times of great loss and sorrow the right words or words of comfort are always difficult to find but knowing Val’s Christian Faith and her loyal devotion as a true disciple of the Lord there are the words Her Saviour has spoken in the good Book which have not only promised her but guaranteed her - her rightful place in Heaven!
We are so blessed to have you both for neighbours and right from day one when we moved into the neighbourhood it was Val and John who were first to welcome us to the neighbourhood and on that occasion Val had made us a beautiful loaf of pumpkin bread. We never forgot how they made us feel and from that moment we could see just how special a person Val was!
Val was rare - exceptionally rare - they don’t make them like her anymore - she always wore a beautiful smile and carried herself with a grace and elegance that made you feel like you were the most important person to her at the moment! When in her company or presence you would always feel and sense Her authentic and genuine love, warmth, kindness, thoughtfulness and that she truly cared how you were doing or how things were going which made her this rare and very special person! Val absolutely epitomized that great quote by Ghandi “the best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in service to others”. Well done good and faithful Servant!
We will miss all those great chats, visits and our exchanges of plants and seeds in the spring. All those beautiful flowers you gave us from past years will continue to bloom and they have made our “Garden” all the more beautiful - we will see you every season when they return to their glorious bloom and we will cherish them forever.
So, now as our final chat and visit comes to an end (nothings changed Val we’ve been “long winded”) let us close in the “beautiful way” you always did by saying:
GOD BLESS YOU!!
All our Love & Prayers

John and Family:
My deepest condolences to you in this most challenging time. No words could express the devastation that you must be going through, or how very sorry I am for your loss.
I worked with Valerie many times during funeral lunches and knew her to be such a happy and caring person, never afraid of hard work, and seemed at her happiest when she was working to serve others. I know there is a place prepared for her in heaven.
I pray that your faith, John, will help you through this terrible ordeal. I know that God is with you every step of the way.

Dear John and family,
I have always considered myself blessed to have been trained by Valerie when I first started work on night shifts at Van Horne Retirement in 2014. I can tell you Valerie was a good nurse but she was so, so much more than that. She was a person who held herself to high professional standards, had a heart full of kindness and compassion and genuine empathy for not only the person in her care but families of those and her teammates. Her love for all that you brought to her life John was so clear when she spoke of you and her family . I am thankful for even the little time I got to know and share with such a
remarkable women. Thank you and may God hold you all close in the palm of his hand .
