Larry was active with Scouting near to the end. Even through COVID he kept joining our 'area' Zoom meetings to keep in touch.
I remember my first area meeting after taking on Group Commissioner (nearly 10 years ago now). I was more than a bit apprehensive, not having been involved for over a decade. Arriving in my fresh red uniform, no badges or even necker at the time - Larry was the one who gave greeting to me and said "it looks good on you".

Larry, whose Amateur Radio Callsign was VE3LFP, was an active and valued member of the Lanark North Leeds Amateur Radio Emergency Service for over 2 decades. His contributions, particularly in the area of the creation of our first Standard Operating Procedure Manual and the compiling of our weekly Net statistics laid the foundation for our efforts today. His engaging personality and wide areas of knowledge made for many great conversations. He will be greatly missed. Our condolences go out to his family.

So very sorry for your loss. I knew Larry through the Amateur Radio world. ( More so just before and for a few years after the great ice storm ) A few items and many stories passed back and forth. Truly a gentleman and an all-around nice guy. I know that now he becomes a silent key he will be missed. Condolences to all from VE3-JAC

To the Entire Family of Larry,
One of my favourite persons is gone. We could talk for hours and did so about so many different subjects many many times.
I could make a list to fill a page and then some. First and foremost a genuine friend he was. He and Joan called one day and asked if I would buy the house next door because they could think of no better neighbour to have. It was a request he made several times and one I thought on for days. However other commitments brought me elsewhere.
He was not only a genuine friend, but a comrade in arms, a fellow disabled veteran, a Scouter, a fellow Legion Member, a fellow volunteer. What we did together, we did well and enjoyed every moment.
I will miss my friend and the endless fireside chats we had. I have a feeling however, that Larry and I will still be talking for a long time to come and beyond.
Sending my heartfelt condolences to all his Family and Friends!

Condolences to all Lawrence's family members. He & Joan visited us several times in Pugwash a few years ago. We shared some wonderful family memories. We were first cousins & being 11 years younger there were many things I didn't remember. We kept in touch yearly after their visits. He is with his beloved Joan. Condolences from all the Pugwash Trenholm's.

Scouter Larry was always a fountain of knowledge, there with a helping had and a good joke. His encouragement both in our scouting lives and in our later friendship, will never be forgotten. Safe travels Larry and say hi to Joan for us. Much love and gratitude Trina and Sawyer Conboy
