Dear Anne, Barb, Lise, Susan and families. I am so saddened to learn of Sophie’s passing.What a wonderful person she was!! Always kind, smart and so witty! Growing up I considered Sophie my second mom as I spent just about as much time at the Evans house as I did at my own!! Sophie never seemed to mind that there was always a house full of kids around even though I’m sure she was exhausted much of the time!! I always admired the fact that Sophie went back to work as a nurse after being away from it for many years! Not many of our moms worked outside the home in that time period. As a nurse myself and having worked shifts while raising my own family I know how tiring it is!! Our sincere condolences to the family. Barb and I visited Aunt Sophie many times in Perth and we will miss our visits very much. She was an amazing women who loved her life. Aunt Sophie even picked up up in Perth when we boated in for a visit. She always welcomed us and our dog Jersey with open arms and food. We will hold our memories close. Sincere condolences to Sue, Anne, Lise, Barb and your families. I share your grief. I will miss our frequent e-mails discussing this and that. She always asked how I was doing and what I was up to, such a caring person. I had a very nice lunch and visit at her house this past summer. I will miss her. What good memories we have as neighbours in Asbestos. Sophie was also on the guide executive when the girls were guiders. We had many interesting and good times working nights in the "Urgence".
