My late parents, Reverend Ed and Margaret Attwell spoke so highly of Dr. Moore. He was my dad's doctor and provided compassionate and professional care when my dad was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. He was honest, caring, had wonderful bedside manners, and was even willing to make house calls. Sincere condolences to his family.

I was very sad to hear that Stephen Moore has passed. My heart felt condolences to the Moore family and friends. He was a very special man.
While I am part of the Moore extended family, and met Stephen briefly when I was young, it wasn't until more recently that I had the chance to get to know him a little better, and for that I am grateful. Stephen's caring style of communication, attention to the lives of others, and love for humour often reminded me of my grandfather, Stanley Moore, Stephen's uncle, another wonderful human.
Stephen and my late brother, Paul Moore, who lived in Vancouver enjoyed corresponding by email. Paul was an enthusiastic Ancestry member who loved researching the family tree and reached out to Stephen for information. Stephen enriched Paul's understanding of the Moore family and they became friends. Paul enjoyed Stephen's humour and together they would try to outwit each other by email, neither set on winning, but both enjoying the contest to the fullest with many good laughs.
In 2021, Paul's health rapidly and unexpectedly declined. He was soon navigating a diagnosis, treatment, and eventually end of life planning. Stephen was there for Paul by email and the occasional phone call. Stephen offered gentle, well informed advice that helped Paul more calmly and confidently accept the choices that were in front of him. Stephen shepherded Paul through his end of life with gentle compassion and care throughout.
Eventually, I too was the recipient of Stephen's caring guidance as he helped me to navigate some choices on Paul's behalf and to come to grips with what had transpired. For that I am eternally grateful. It takes a very special person to say just the right thing at such a difficult time, and Stephen was that person.
After my brother's passing, Stephen and I realized that we shared a love for gardening. I looked forward to his occasional gardening updates. I will be thinking of him as I plant my garden this spring.
I regret not being able to attend Stephen's service today, but my thoughts and condolences are with family and friends.
My deepest sympathy,
Anne Moore

The loss of Steve is devastating to our entire family. But, I feel especially sad for my sister Ann who I know will be completely shattered as well as Andy & Tori, Heidi and their kids. Steve was a truly wonderful brother in law to my wife and I and an amazing Uncle to our daughter and her two girls. Every Civic Weekend Ann & Steve would open their home to our family and my brother’s family and it’s always been a terrific time. It won’t be the same without him. I’ve added a photo from one of those weekends. In the photo is my brother Bill and his wife Julie, Andy & Tori and of course Steve. Steve will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

My sincere condolences Ann, Andrew, Heather (Heidi) and your families. I was so sad to learn of Steve's passing.
I had the good fortune of working with SBM for years in Peterborough. He was a kind, humble and brilliant man. I always said if they can't figure out what is wrong with you, see Dr. Moore. He will figure it out!
He loved his family and was so proud of them. I loved hearing about his annual canoeing adventures. Mostly I loved reading his consultations and his way with words.
We were blessed to have such a brilliant physician in Peterborough.

To Ann, Andrew and Heather: I am so sorry for your loss. And it is indeed a great loss, because Dr. Moore was a great man. Thoughtful, kind and so very intelligent - I used to love listening to him talk his way through a consultation. He had such a gentle manner with patients, even if he did sometimes scare the daylights out of them by waking them late at night to do his consultations. I had the privilege of getting to know him a little more over the last few years, and I was struck by the depth of his joy at being with his family. He talked about his (grown up) children and grandchildren, and spending time out by the water with them, about canoeing and swimming and summer days. He was so proud of his family. He was an outstanding physician, and wonderful colleague.

To Anne and family. Ron and I were so sad to hear of the passing of Steve. We both remember coming to Peterborough as young Respiratory Therapists from Toronto and having the pleasure of learning and working alongside him. He was an outstanding physician and was instrumental in advancing ventilation and critical care in both the former St. Jospeh's and Civic hospital. He was such an advocate for the Respiratory Therapy Departments and well respected by all the staff. It was commonly known however that whenever he showed up in the department, you had better keep an eye on your lunch in the fridge or it would be gone! He will long be remembered by healthcare professionals and patients as one of the most kind and dedicated physicians to have worked in Peterborough.

My deepest sympathy to Ann and the family
Steve and I go way back to our years at the UWO Medical School and the class of1969
We were lab partners in many of the classes and in 1967 we had the most wonderful summer as externs at the Medical College Hospital in Charleston SC in the Department of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery
We were taught how to do minor surgical procedures as well as participate in many open heart procedures as well as thoracotomies
None of the other students in our class had any similar experience
We were also able to get to the 1967 World’s Fair in Montreal
We the went on to intern at Toronto Western Hospital
I was at the wedding to Ann
After internship we went our separate ways but got together at each of the 5 year reunions until unfortunately neither of us was healthy enough to make the 55th last September
I hope that some of these memories help in even a small way to ease the pain of your loss
All the best Ann

Dr. Moore was part of the medical team who put me back together following a serious car accident in 1986 in Peterborough. I lost part of a lung in that mishap and I well remember Dr. Moore's diligence and expertise in caring for my respiratory system during that critical time. Today I am healthy and completely functional thanks to the team and in large measure, Dr. Moore. I even ran a half-marathon once in under two hours. I never could have accomplished that without his intervention. I owe much to him, and thank him through his family. My heartfelt condolences to you all.
