It is with profound sadness that we extend our condolences to Kathy and Stu's family. Many words have been written about Stu and the wonderful, gentle man he was...all of them so very true. There is such a void in all our communities with his passing and he will be truly missed. We treasure our precious memories of Stu and pray that the memories of all who loved him will give comfort at this difficult time.

Michael and I were shocked and saddened to hear of Stu’s death last night from John Noble. We knew that he was having aches and pain while playing tennis but we had no idea that he was that he had cancer. Our deepest condolences Kathy. He will be missed on the tennis courts and elsewhere We have no doubt. Far to young to die!
We are out of the country at present so will be unable to attend his celebration of life in person. We hope everything goes smoothly.
Sincerely,
Shirley and Michael

Kathy,
Stu’s passing has personally left a huge hole in the hearts of all who knew him here at Pine Lakes, as well as a void in the entire community as a whole. He was one of the kindest, most giving people I’ve ever met. So willing to give of himself and his time, and he did it with no expectation of praise or reward. A gentle and unassuming man. My condolences to you and to Stu’s entire family. Know that he will be missed and know, also, that your friends are here for you whenever you need.
Love
Ruth

Dear Kathy, We send you and the Paterson family condolences on the loss of such a patience, kind, highly intelligent and good-natured husband. He died far too young and we wish your support for your grief. He was the big brother, who seemed so handsome, smart, and capable, even then when we were kids. As you know, Sandy was the eldest child of the Paterson family, the family the Gallaghers spent the most time with growing up. His parents and ours were best friends, who met when they were newly married. Our parents and the kids talked and played and laughed a lot when together. It was a pleasure to have seen you both at our wedding. Sandy and his family were part of childhood summer holidays and Christmas celebrations. We saw Sandy and his children when they were babies. We were so proud of Sandy when he got his first very impressive job in Ottawa and when I moved away, Mum shared the news of your meeting and your marriage and we were happy for your shared happiness. Again, so sorry for your loss. Love, Dawna & John Moore

To Donald, Scott, Barbara. I was sorry to hear of Sandy's illness then his passing. He was your big brother and my cousin. It brought back memories of the times on Locke St. Hamilton, grandma Patersons house. Your parents lived on the second floor and Sandy was a baby and I was 12. May God give you comfort at this time.
