We send our sincere condolences to all the McVeety family. This is also a very sad time for our family - we have lost a dear friend of over 50 years - and one who was like a brother to us, as well as an "Uncle" to our sons. We have so many memories - camping together as young families, followed by our family weddings, along with family losses - all shared together. Bob will be remembered for many things - from cooking Lanark County eggs on the Coleman stove, to daily setting his watch to the CBC radio signal. Special memories, one and all.

Summer of 77
August 1977 I spent my summer vacation at Aunt Elaines and Uncle Bobs.Janice and I were the same age and we had secret plans of tenting at the lake, beer, boys and singing loud with the Bay City Rollers and Elton John.Dear uncle Bob had his own plans for us.Report in and be on time for his famous spaghetti sauce. He demanded to know how the hole got in his tent,if we never left our camp site!(Sorry Uncle, but we were out joy riding with the boys we met)He needed to enforced the new seatbelt law with me on the way home from the family BBQ,(Sorry Uncle, but I got found the downstairs bar and my drunken tummy told me not to wear one)Uncle you were so mad, getting a phone call from the movie theater .They found your daughters wallet under the seat(sorry Uncle, but we were there having a glass of wine while watching the movie)Your voice was loud and your face got red,but I could see that little grin you tried to hide. You could end a great day with a bagpipe tune and dance with Elain to the oldies.I will never forget your faces at the airport on my way home, a hidden horseshoe you put in my carry on,set off the alarms and you all burst out in laughter .The laugh was on me. Thank you for the memories Uncle .Love Anne xo
